This was a new concept for me and this vignette helped introduce it in a familiar yet novel way. The context of play and playgrounds was an excellent approach for illustrating the subjective and socially adapted interpretations of affordance in our physical and culturally built environments. It could even be expanded to enrich our observational skills in doing research and interpreting different perspectives of the same, or similar, environments.
